Christopher wrote to tell us about his ministry to crews on ships in Bournemouth:
‘I am a Sailor’s Society Honorary Chaplain and I make ship welfare visits to crews on cargo ships arriving Poole Docks. I take and offer large gift bags including warm woollen articles of clothing including hats, Gospels and devotional booklets for the crew.’
People from all walks of life people need to hear the gospel. Psalm 107 talks about the rich variety of people who found faith in Jesus in their time of need, including sailors. It says:
‘Some went out on the sea in ships…
‘They saw the works of the Lord…
‘Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble…
…and he guided them into their desired haven.’
